About Us

Leadership Development

CCO’s core mission is to bring people of all faiths together to build relationships, develop strong leaders, and improve the quality of life in our communities.  In very broad terms, CCO trains volunteers from area congregations in the leadership and advocacy skills required to effect the social change needed to improve the quality of life in their communities.

CCO’s community organizing methodology is simple.  Working alongside member congregations, CCO trains volunteers to:

1. reach out to their neighbors

2. identify common concerns

3. research possible solutions

4. collaborate with key decision-makers to implement solutions.

CCO is a faith-based, non-partisan organization focusing on five primary initiatives: housing and community development, safe neighborhoods, healthcare,  economic empowerment, and youth development.  Using its community organizing methodology, CCO and its volunteers have improved Kansas City neighborhoods.
