In the absence of a parallel process of defensive and offensive economic strategies, the goals of long-term individual wealth creation, consumer protection, and economic social change are not sustainable.  Defensively, CCO has made significant progress in protecting workers and consumers.  For example, CCO has supported seniors who need home repairs from predators who take advantage of their situation.  CCO is also a leader in bringing together state-wide coalitions that initiate policies to protect workers from economic predators, such as pay day loan institutions with exorbitant interest rates.  Offensively, CCO works for livable wages and the policies that support them, and wealth creation strategies such as home buyer education.
